Lahiri Mahasaya One-Hour Mahasamadhi Commemorative Meditations

Lahiri Mahasaya, the paramguru of Paramahansa Yogananda, is revered by all SRF/YSS members as a Yogavatar (“incarnation of Yoga”) who was pivotal in introducing Kriya Yoga to the modern world. Born on September 30, 1828, Lahiri Mahasaya left this world on September 26, 1895, during his mahasamadhi — the last meditation, or conscious communion with God, during which a perfected master merges himself in the cosmic Aum and casts off the physical body.

To commemorate the mahasamadhi of Lahiri Mahasaya, special one-hour meditations led by SRF monastics will be held in multiple languages including English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.
